Minchella & Co started working with Throneware in Summer 2014. Their original website was dated, difficult to update and most importantly, not optimised for mobile devices. This was an important issue, as the analytics showed that a large majority of traffic on the website came from users with mobile devices. Minchella & Co customers around town wanted to find information on a particular ice cream parlour before making a visit.
We took this analysis and other research carried out by our team on the website, discarded the old version and started from scratch. One of the main objectives was to ensure that the new website placed an emphasis on the important information that the majority of customers were looking for. All of the existing content from the old site would also be kept so that users could still find out more about Minchella & Co, only now, the key information was easier to access and made more obvious to users.
Minchella & Co also required a Content Management System (CMS) to allow them to easily update the website. Due to the nature of the business, details such as opening hours and special promotions often rapidly change. A CMS would allow the staff at Minchella & Co to make these changes easily without intervention from Throneware.
I was absolutely amazed at how quickly my website was set up for me, nothing is too much trouble for Throneware. Everything was to my satisfaction and any small alterations were completed in a very professional manner, I could not have hoped for a better service, all of our customers have commented on how good and easy it is to use and I couldn't be happier. Thank you Throneware!
Development started on the website soon after the initial requirement and graphic design stages. The development process was agile and iterative. The old website was soon replaced with feedback from Minchella & Co. constantly feeding back into future development iterations and releases. Further requirements emerged during the development process, such as the addition of an online store to sell Minchella & Co. merchandise. Due to the agile nature of the project, we were able to incorporate such changes easily. The only effect of implementing such a change meant was that the project timeline increased.
The online store has a wide variety of features, ranging from a product review system to a shipping expense calculator and a stock management system. The store itself accepts payments through the Amazon Seller Central system. This is a cost effective way for businesses to accept payments online. The store is also fully responsive, so Minchella & Co. customers can purchase products and merchandise from any device.
Minchella & Co. were very happy with the end result of the project and have seen an increase in traffic and engagement rates compared to the old site. Loading times have been optimised and the responsiveness of the new site has opened up the site to a large range of new users. The online store has also proven to be a success and opened up a new revenue stream to Minchella & Co's business.
